Inscription.
Presented to the city of Lake Wales through the efforts of Mr. William J. Pelissier and Miss Elizabeth D. Quaintance, this cannon, removed from the frigate USS Constitution during the 1927 restoration, was originally dedicated by the Lake Wales Chapter NSDAR in 1933.

Restored with donations from the people of Lake Wales, the Historic Lake Wales Society and a grant from the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, it was rededicated on the 215th anniversary of the launching of the USS Constitution.
