Inscription.
Garden staff have been collecting plant material from different parts of the world since 1890. As plants and seeds are collected from the wild, staff record details on the plant's location in a field book. Their data include GPS coordinates, soil and environmental conditions, and other species growing around the plant. Recording these natural conditions help staff grow and care for the plant, understand its taxonomy and life history, and design strategies for its conservation.

Conservation counts! Plants are collected according to conservation principles.
