Inscription. Cultures around the world have learned to use plants to fight illness and maintain health; more than 50,000 flowering plants are used medicinally. As medical plants receive more commercial attention, there is an increased risk of overharvesting, which puts many medicinal species at risk of extinction. You can help to limit these losses by choosing vitamins and medicines with ingredients that were legally collected.
