Regarding Parish Courthouse. The Ramsey-Tuggle Feud occurred in the 1890s in Claiborne Parish. It is estimated that about 20 individuals lost their lives in the years-long battle between the two families--far more than the more well-known Hatfield-McCoy Feud.

The marker was erected on the courthouse lawn in 1954. Shortly thereafter, it was taken down and replaced by another marker that did not mention the "White Lightning Feud," also known as the "Ramsey-Tuggle Feud." Apparently, descendants of one of the families did not like the mention of the feud in public.
