1. Sleeping Woman Marker
Inscription. Directly across from this marker, a voice rises from the surface of the stone wall at the edge of the river and begins: "How can you know what it means to be here in the clear silence…and continues 1200' up river. In the summer of 1991, two months after it was painted, a section of the stone wall with the first sixty one words collapsed into the river. Sleeping Woman was commissioned by the Fairmount Park Art Association with support from the Pew Charitable Trusts.
