Inscription. The Village of Shiloh was originally called "Three Springs" because of three nearby natural occurring springs. The Tamoroa Indians often camped near the springs for a source of water. Folklore from around 1785 mentions the Indians seeing a "Hairy Wildman and his Son" roaming near the springs. This monument was erected in honor of the first sightings of "Sasquatch and Baby Sasquatch" in Shiloh.
