1. Thomas Muldrup Logan, MD Marker
Inscription. Dr. Logan came to California in 1850 in search of gold. When the cholera epidemic broke out in Sacramento in October of that same year, he left the gold fields to lend his services to aid the residents of the city.

Dr. Logan wrote the first medical history of Sacramento and in 1872 he unsuccessfully proposed that the American Medical Association acknowledge the rights of women to study and practice medicine.

the causes of disease epidemics. Dr. Logan collected mortality and morbidity data for the Gold Rush area from physicians, undertakers and coroners, becoming the State’s pioneer epidemiologist."
