Park Avenue Post Office Alley
1889
Park Avenue, now known as Post Office Alley, was created when the US Post Office was built on the corner of Front and Chestnut Streets. A popular park was adjacent. Three buildings that faced the passage still stand, including No. 3, which became Artists Gallery in 1958, part of the Wilmington Art Association. The current post office replaced the old brownstone structure in 1937.
