Inscription.
Beloved children's book author Margaret Wise Brown (1910-1952) penned more than 100 children's books including The Runaway Bunny (1942), Little Fur Family (1946), and Goodnight Moon (1947).

Margaret spent many happy times visiting her good friend Jessica Gamble Dunham in nearby Stonington, Conn. After Margaret's untimely death, her sister Roberta Rausch and Jessica donated a near complete set of her published works, personal papers, manuscripts, and books to Westerly Library where it could be housed and cared for.

Erected 2015 by Friends of the Memorial Library Association, Rhode Island Center for the Book at Rhode Island Council for the Humanities.
