Inscription. Indiana University students trained with Glenn Black.

From 1945-1964. Glenn Black trained students from Indiana University. Men and women enrolled in summer field schools to learn how to excavate, document and care for artifacts. If they completed the course, they joined the Trowel and Brush Society, an honorary club.

Today, periodic excavations take place by archaeologists working with the Glenn A. Black Laboratory of Archaeology.
