1663 - 1963
In honor of the founding of the Homenossitt Plantation which grew and prospered and became the Town of Clinton.
The week of July 28 - August 4, 1963 was set set aside for a townewide celebration embracing the many events of Clinton's historic past, its present achievements, its cultural and social life, a celebration in which all the townspeople took part, including many descendants of the earliest settlers, whose names span the community for three hundred years.
This plaque is dedicated by the Tercentenary Committee to honor not only our founding fathers but the many men and women who gave of their time and effort to make our Tercentenary Celebration both successful and memorable.
