Additional commentary.
1. Marker moved to beach side of Highway 90, next to parking lot.
This marker previously was in the median, close to the actual Biloxi Lighthouse. Many years ago it was moved to the grassy area between the parking lot and the southern edge of the eastbound lane of U.S. Highway 90, directly across from the lighthouse. See photos 2 & 3.

6. The Biloxi Light, Biloxi, Miss.
A century ago, the lighthouse looked much the same, but the area around it was much different, with the water coming up nearly to the light. The keeper's house and boathouse (visible here behind the light) are gone, and the lighthouse now sits in the median of US 90, with a bit of beach to the south of the highway occupying what used to be open water.
