Inscription.
In the last three generations, breeding populations of African Penguins have decreased by more than 50 percent. They continue to decline.

The main threats African Penguins face are competition for food with the commercial fishing industry, climate variation and its effects on the distribution of the fish they prey on, habitat loss and pollution.

Through education, volunteer recruitment and training, research and hands-on fieldwork in Africa, SANCCOB has become an international leader in seabird conservation efforts.

Since the organization's establishment in 1968, it has treated more than 90,000 oiled, ill, injured or abandoned African Penguins and other threatened seabirds.

Research shows that the penguin population is 19 percent higher due to SANCCOB's efforts.
