1. World War I Marker
Inscription. April 6, 1917 U.S. President Woodrow Wilson declared war upon Germany. To such a task we can dedicate our lives and our fortunes, everything that we are and everything that we have, with the pride of those who know that the day has come when America is privileged to spend her blood and her might for the principles that gave her birth and happiness and the peace which she has treasured. God helping her, she can do no other. Of the 116,516 Americans that lost their lives during World War I, 30,922 are interred at our overseas American military cemeteries and 4,452 are commemorated on our Tablets of the Missing as missing in action, lost or buried at sea.
