4. Campbell’s Island State Memorial (North face)
This bronze relief depicting the battle, known as the Battle of Rock Island Rapids, is attributed to sculptor Albert Louis Van der Berghen. It depicts two armed soldiers and a woman comforting a wounded soldier. In the background are several soldiers and a boat, with Native American warriors emerging from trees across the river.
