Porto, Portugal — Southwestern Europe (Iberian Peninsula)
Obeliscos de Prelada / Obelisks of the Prelate
— Jardim do Passeio Alegre —
Classified as a monument of public interest since 1938, when they became part of this garden as the terminus of the plane tree alameda, they were part of the overall project of Quinta da Prelada, designed by Nicolau Nasoni, as the end of the farm's entrance at the end of Rua dos Castelos. The urbanization of the space led to its transfer to the municipality in 1898, by the last owner of the farm. Composed of a mural base, ending in a cornice of two inverted volutes, they have an eccentric pyramidal shape, domed in spheres and topped by castles (Noronha coat of arms).
Erected by Porto.
