Ròmul Bosch i Alsina (1852-1923), metge, navilier, diputat, senador i alcalde de Barcelona fou també president de la Junta d'Obres del Port de Barcelona durant vint-i-un anys (en dos periodes diferents). Va ser un dels impulsors i el principal administrador de les grans obres d'ampliació del port en les primeres dècades del segle XX. Aquestes obres varen configurar la infraestructura del que actualment és el Port Vell. Com a homenatge al seu important paper en el port, el 1923 es va donar el nom de Bosch i Alsina al vell moll de la Muralla. La gran escultura de l'artista luxemburguès Robert Krier es troba davant de l'edifici que Bosch i Alsina va convertir en seu de la Junta d'Obres del Port de Barcelona el 1918.

Ròmul Bosch i Alsina (1852-1923), doctor, shipping agent, MP, senator and mayor of Barcelona was also president of the Port of Barcelona Works Board for twenty-one years (in two different perjods). He was one of the promoters and the main administrator of the great port enlargement works in the first decades of the 20th century. These works configured the infrastructure of what is currently the Port Vell. As a tribute to his key role in the port, the name of Bosch i Alsina was given to the old Muralla wharf in 1923. The large sculpture by the Luxembourgish artist Robert Krier stands in front of the building that Bosch i Alsina turned into the Port of Barcelona Works Board in 1918.
