Born on September 23, 1927 to Charles and Natalie McBride, Lena was the third of five children. She grew up in an Acadian house near what is now the Maison de Begnaud Visitor's center. She attended school in Scott and graduated from Scott High School in 1944. She then moved to Houston, married and worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for 40 years until her retirement. She returned to the Scott area in 1995 where she became involved with the Catholic Church community as well as enjoying Scott Mardi Gras, and maintaining friendships with her former classmates.
She passed on September 10, 2017
Established August 1996 in commemoration of the Twinning of Scott, Louisiana, USA and Memramcook, New Brunswick, Canada.
Renovation to Memramcook Park made possible through the generosity of Mrs. Lena McBride Weaver who had a deep love for the people of our community.
