1. Tippecanoe County Marker
Inscription. In the early 19th century, Shawnee Chief Tecumseh and his brother, Tenskwatawa (The Prophet), created a united Native American force with which they hoped to drive white settlers south of the Ohio River. The capital of this Indian confederacy was located at Prophetstown, where more than 1,000 warriors met and trained for battle.
