1. Huntington County Marker
Inscription. Three Native Americans pilot canoes, circumnavigating three currents. The Wabash and Salamonie rivers made this area a popular center for Native Americans, and in 1831, Chief Richardville moved the Miami capital to the Forks of the Wabash in Huntington County. The Wabash and Erie Canal from Fort Wayne to Huntington County was completed in 1835.
