Inscription. This labyrinth represents an opportunity for walking meditation that is one of the oldest contemplative and transformational tools known to mankind. For centuries, the labyrinth has been used to promote healing, connection, community and peace. Recognizing the contributions provided by Eastern State Hospital by the Galt family, the therapeutic labyrinth was constructed in order to promote a healing environment for all who choose to traverse its single path to the center. Walking the labyrinth with its simple path can reduce stress and quiet the mind.

The Therapeutic Labyrinth was funded in its entirety by private donations. Elizabeth Pollard, granddaughter of Reverend Alexander Galt was most instrumental in the funding of the Labyrinth.
