Inscription. In appreciation for his fifty four years of outstanding service to the community as a physician and as an energetic and generous supporter of many improvements which enhanced the quality of life for citizens of Cumberland County. Some of the major projects he helped to make possible were a hospital, nursing home, high school, library, Catholic church and the Veterans Memorial Park. Ours is a far better community for having had Dr. Schickel live among us.

Thanks, "Doc".
