1. Carousel Marker
Inscription. The Virginia Discovery Museum carousel is one of the oldest remaining self-propelled carousels in America. Its seven horses are 1910 castings by amusement park ride manufacturer William F. Mangels from carvings by master carver Marcus C. Illions. The carousel has delighted families with free rides on the Downtown Mall since 2006.
