A native of Bogota, Columbia, Joe Angel didn't speak English until he was nine but spent 19 seasons over three stints as an Orioles radio broadcaster as part of his 42-year career in baseball broadcasting. He was part of O's radio team from 1988-1990, 1992, and 2004 through 2018 before retiring. Among his famous calls were "Hasta la vista pelota!" and "Wave that baby bye-bye" for home runs and "Put it in the win column!" after an Orioles victory.
