1. Native Plants Garden Marker
Built and maintained by the Environmental Studies Program's students and faculty, this small garden features nearly 40 species of wildflowers, ferns, vines, shrubs and trees that are native to Virginia.
Students in art, biology, environmental studies and other disciplines visit as part of their courses.
In addition to its beauty, the garden shades and cools this part of the campus. The plants provide food, nest materials, shelter and homes to a variety of birds, insects and other animals throughout the year.
Plants, signs and the bench were purchased with donations to Shenandoah University through its Landscape Committee.
