Hanson Torpedo Truck
Built in March, 1945 by the Hanson Clutch & Machinery Co., of Tiffin, Ohio for the Navy, this vehicle would use its crane to load two torpedoes on cradles on either side of the driver's seat. It would then drive the weapons to submarine piers where a larger crane would lift the torpedoes and load them onto submarines, destroyers and other ships. The truck's crane could load torpedoes aboard PT boats. This is the last known operating example of this unique vehicle. It was restored and is maintained by USS Cod volunteers.
