Inscription.
Original Church of God. This Original Church of God in Gallatin is one of three churches founded and pastored by Bishop Lula Mae Swanson for fifty-five years. She also founded and pastored the Original Church of God in Belvidere and Hartsville, Tennessee. Members of the Original Church of God joined Bishop Swanson every Sunday to sing songs as she hosted and preached on a radio program “Bringing the Church to You” on longtime Gallatin radio station WHIN 1010-AM.

L.M. Swanson's Nursing Home. In 1954, Bishop L.M. Swanson used her personal funds and established a nursing home for members of her church and elderly African American citizens. The first to serve African Americans in Gallatin, Tennessee, with convalescent care, it is located directly across the street from the Original Church of God. At the time, L.M. Swanson's Nursing Home provided daily religious services along with quality health care for twenty-three patients.
