1. Pete's Station Marker
The Wolf Creek Rail Trail you are experiencing was purchased by Five Rivers MetroParks, the Village of Brookville, and the Village of Trotwood in 1992. The three agencies worked together to provide staff, equipment and materials for the construction of the 13 mile trail on the abandoned rail corridor.
Pete Smith, Area Manager at Five Rivers MetroParks, was assigned the job of constructing the trail. He drew upon his construction experience and gift of leadership to bind the forces of these three agencies into a single working unit.
This shelter, Pete's Station, is named in dedication to the man responsible for the existence of the Wolf Creek Rail Trail, a job well done.
