1. Stone Parsonage Marker

Inscription. 14 Washington Street was built as the first parsonage for the Zion Lutheran Church in 1790. It served in that capacity until 1848 when a new parsonage was built at 13 West Main Street. A Lutheran school was located next to the property. The original town well is located at the rear of the property near the summer kitchen. In 1862, this home served as a recovery station for Union and Confederate soldiers wounded in the Battles of South Mountain and Antietam.
