in a block house which was erected for protection from the Indians. On October 6, 1809, Simon Frisbee and his wife, Lucy, sold to the supervisors of Essex County for the sum of $150.00 one acre of land in the town of Elizabethtown “for the use of a courthouse and Gaol forever.”

2. John Hamilton Fulton (1869-1927) (Wikipedia). Excerpt:
He was born on November 12, 1869, in Cτte-des-Neiges in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, to Scottish parents. In 1922 he was senior vice president at National City Bank. He was president of National Park Bank from 1922 to 1927 when he replaced Richard Delafield, who was promoted to chairman of the board. He died on September 26, 1927, of a cerebral hemorrhage at his home, Bradlea Farm on Lake Champlain in Essex, New York.
