Inscription. In 1927 a foghorn was installed next to the fog bell. It remained in place until at least 1943 before being relocated behind the new addition at the rear of the Radio Beacon Equipment building The horns were mounted on a small tower.

Foghorns were much more complicated than a fog bell. Diaphragm foghorns required air compressors which require electricity or steam engines and this operation entailed special operation procedures and maintenance.

The fog signals were discontinued in 1986 due to radar and the increased number of buoys located in the shipping channels.
