Nació en Valladolid, hoy Morelia, capital de Michoacán. Su decidida y oportuna intervención en Querétaro favoreció el levantamiento independentista el 16 de septiembre de 1810.

Born in Valladolid (present-day Morelia, capital of Michoacan), Her resolute and timely intervention in Queretaro abetted the uprising of the independence movement on September 16, 1810.
