Inscription.
Graduated from Mullens High School, Class 1958. Served with distinction in Vietnam, US Army as Company Commander c1/5 1st. Cavalry Division. Received 3 Purple Hearts, Bronze Star and Silver Star. Shot down in helicopter, paralyzed from waist down. Retired from Army as Captain.

Worked at Woodrow Wilson Rehabilitation Center Waynesboro, Va. As Rehabilitation and Recreation Director. Participated in Wheelchair Olympics, and was Coach of the Va. Wheelchair Olympic Team. Transferred to Franklin D. Roosevelt Institute for Rehabilitation as the Facilities Director. Became an official for the National Wheelchair Olympics.

Carried the Olympic Torch into Warm Springs in 1996.

Died December 3, 2004.
