Proksa Park
Along the pathways are numerous park amenities, including three lighted tennis courts, six lighted blue-clay horseshoe courts, two picnic groves, the teeter center picnic area, and two baseball diamonds. The park also features two small ponds connected by a meandering stream, and play areas designed for compliance with the American Disability Act and Consumer Product Safety Commission guidelines.
The park also contains the Proksa Park Activity Center. The center is located at 3001 Wisconsin Avenue, and features an early childhood learning center, craft room, meeting rooms and public restrooms. The Proksa Park Activity Center is also available for use by the public at a nominal charge.
The real treasure of the Park is the plant material selected to provide a refreshing look of beauty for every season. The diversity of plant species; illustrated by more than 64 species of trees, over 85 species of shrubs, and numerous flower and turf varieties, has been the key factor in the design if the park, since its beginnings in 1923,
