Ignacio Zaragoza
(1829 - 1862)

Nació en Bahía del Espiritu Santo, entonces parte de Coahuila y hoy de Texas. Defendió la soberanía de México frente a la intervención extranjera. Derrotó en Puebla a las fuerzas francesas de Napoleón Ill el 5 de mayo de 1862.

Born in Bahia del Espiritu Santo, then part of Coahuila and now of Texas. He defended the sovereignty of Mexico against foreign invasion. In Puebla he defeated the French forces of Napoleon Ill on May 5, 1862.
