1. Roy L. Hursey Gate Marker
Inscription.
This building served as the Guard Shack for Eielson Air Force Base's Hursey Gate between 1963 and 2007. In January 2007, the main gate was upgraded and moved to accommodate force protection measures as well as modernize traffic flow onto and off the air base. This particular building was refurbished and moved from the main gate's previous location to Heritage Park by the 354th Civil Engineer Squadron as an added hallmark to Eielson Air Force Base's rich history.
