Inscription.
Alva Bunker was born in 1901 with no hands or legs. At 16, he was transformed when Toledo Rotary provided him with prosthetic legs and sent him to school.

His success inspired Rotary's ongoing international efforts to help disabled children. But his role in history was long forgotten and his grave in Willow Cemetery unmarked. The Toledo Rotary and the Ability Center of Toledo honor here the hero who changed the world for disabled children.

Erected by The Toledo Rotary and the Ability Center of Toledo.
