What's Under Your Feet?
The last glacier receded 10,000 years ago. In its wake, it left large boulders and other glacial debris. You are standing on a drumlin left behind by the last glacier. Drumlins are hills of sediment made by retreating glaciers.
Sinkholes and underground streams are 10-200 feet below ground. You can find them throughout Woodbury, including in this park. This type of terrain is called karst.
Glaciers moved rocks 10,000 years ago. Farmers cleared rocks from their land 175 years ago.
