Clarksburg Baptist Church
This church was organized and began serving a congregation in 1848. The present building, with its unusual round sanctuary, was completed in 1896 on land purchased from Colonel Alexander Moore. Colonel Moore served with gallant and highly meritorious conduct during the battle of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, and was buried with full military honors at Arlington National Cemetery.
