Construite au XVe siècle sur une ancienne voie romaine, l'église Saint-Médard se trouve à l'endroit où la rue Mouffetard croisait la Bièvre. Dès le IXe siècle, une chapelle dédiée à Saint-Médard aurait existé à l'emplacement de l'actuelle église.

Built in the fifteenth century on the old Roman road, the church of Saint-Médard is located at the place where the rue Mouffetard crossed the Bièvre. As of the 9th century, a chapel dedicated to Saint-Médard would have existed on the site of the current church.
