Inscription.
Likely the site of a wagon maker shop, a small single story brick house was built here between 1786 and 1791 by Jacob Hoffner. Later it was enlarged by Captain William Dick who carried on a butchering business until 1845. Confederate soldiers demanded food here in 1863.

This was the home of local historian Florence Jordan from 1920 until her death in 1970.
