These lands were warranted in 1763 by James and Isabella Blaine who came here with their small son Ephriam, who later became the noted General Ephriam Blaine Commissary General of the Continental Army under General George Washington
The First Officer of Volunteers for the Great Civil War of 1861-1865 came from Blain, Perry County, Pennsylvania, on January 12, 1861, when Captain John A. Wilson, commanding the Washington Artillery of Blain, offered the services of his company of "about seventy-five men" in a letter to President James Buchanan
