Pike's Landing in College in Fairbanks North Star Borough, Alaska — Northwest (North America)
Welcome to our Chef's garden!
We're so glad you're here!
Our produce growing season in Fairbanks is fairly short about four blissful months, extending from May - September. However, while the season is short, the intensity of the 24-hour sunshine enables produce to grow at incredibly fast rates.
At Fairbanks Princess Riverside Lodge, we leverage our natural resources to provide you the freshest ingredients from our garden in your dishes and drinks made right here at the lodge. Our menus are seasonally crafted to accommodate nature's growing and harvesting season. We also work with a local distillery to turn a portion of our potatoes into vodka which you can taste in our '68 below mule' cocktail.
The gardens in front of you were planted by Alaskans and continue to be maintained by Alaskans throughout the year. During the years when we have a surplus of produce, we share with our local food banks.
We hope that our garden helps you feel more connected with this great land. We continue to strive for a positive and sustainable impact by minimizing our carbon footprint.
As you take a look around, see if you can find our herb section (hint: look for basil or mint)[.] And look for Nasturtiums, their petals/flowers are edible and quite delicious.
Erected by Fairbanks Princess Riverside Lodge and Sustain Alaska and the Yukon.
