1. Raven - Eagle Sculpture Marker
This sculpture was commissioned by Sealaska Corporation. It was designed by Ray Peck and welded by Larry Sommers. The Raven on the left and the Eagle on the right, are the two major moieties of the Tlingit tribe, which inhabits southeast Alaska. A Tlingit is either Eagle or Raven by birth and according to custom, must marry the opposite. The fishing scenes incorporated into the clan figures depict the transformation of old methods to the new ways of fishing. The sculpture is on permanent loan from Sealaska Corporation to the City and Borough of Juneau.
