Inscription.  
Anciennement connu sous le nom de square Godefroy Cavaignac, cet espace vert est rebaptisé le 4 octobre 2013 en hommage à Olga Bancic (1912-1944), résistante d'origine roumaine, morte pour la France.

Seule femme membre du groupe Manouchian et de l'organisation des Francs-tireurs et partisans - main d'œuvre immigrée (FTP-MOI), elle est arrêtée à Paris en novembre 1943, incarcérée à Stuttgart, en Allemagne et exécutée en mal 1944.

Arbustes à fleurs (Lilas de Chine, Lilas des Indes, Lavatères...) et plantes grimpantes (Morelle Faux Jasmin, lierre) marquent l'entrée du square. Il offre des espaces de jeux et de repos ainsi qu'un jardin pédagogique.

Formerly known as the Godefroy Cavaignac square, this green space was renamed on October 4, 2013 in tribute to Olga Bancic (1912-1944), a resistance fighter of Romanian origin who died for France.

Olga Bancic (born Golda Bancic; also known under her French nom de guerre Pierrette; 10 May 1912 – 10 May 1944) was a Jewish Romanian communist activist, known for her role in the French Resistance. A member of the FTP-MOI and Missak Manouchian's Group, she was captured by Nazi German forces in late 1943, and executed soon after. Bancic was married to the writer and fellow FTP-MOI fighter Alexandru Jar. She was the last person decapitated by axe or similar (and not via guillotine) in Germany, and the last known in Europe.
