Remnants of a Medieval Street
During the construction work on the Forum Hanau between 2008 and 2013, remains of the old town bastions from 1527-1534 were uncovered, as well as older traces of settlement.

Detailed archaeological investigations have shown that before the walls were built, there was a fortified early medieval road intersection in front of the old town.

In the recovered and presented remains of the path to the old town, wagon tracks are clearly visible.
