1. An Agricultural Legacy Marker
Constructed from the remnants of an older barn, portions of the Apple Barn, may be the oldest structure on the plantation. Its hewn saw-pit timbers, wrought iron nails, and tall down braces among other architectural clues suggest late eighteenth or early nineteenth century. While the original use is unknown, by 1910 the barn contained a mill for crushing apples and other fruit. In 1918 Victor Stewart modified the structure for curing and packing tobacco grown on the property.
The Dairy Barn was built to assist with the Stewarts' dairy operation. Today the barn houses the park's tractor collection and is open to the public.

The Corn Crib was constructed to store harvested corn. In the 1970's the building was covered in weatherboard and converted into an agricultural museum, displays from which were later moved to the current Farm and Forestry Museum.
Although the Stewarts were not farmers by trade, their passion for continuing Chippokes' long legacy of farming is reflected in these buildings.
