Inscription. The Stewarts built the Packard Garage around 1920-1930. Although Victor Stewart lived at Chippokes, he worked in Petersburg and like many of us today commuted daily. Mr. Stewart's preferred vehicle was the Packard. One of these, his 1941 Packard 160 Series Clipper has been partially restored and is currently on display inside. The Packard Garage has been given a new use as the FOC Gift Shop.

What does FOC mean?
FOC stands for Friends of Chippokes, a dedicated group of volunteers whose mission is to identify and promote activities to enhance the cultural and natural resources of Chippokes Plantation State Park. You'll find our volunteers doing things like cleaning and decorating the grounds, cooking in our historic kitchen, and leading you through the mansion. Money raised in the Gift Shop is used to provide for park needs and to enrich the Chippokes experience. So go ahead and stop in to have a look at the Packard and talk to our FOE volunteer.
