Beschreibung: Dieser Kilometerstein wurde im Namen des Berliner Senats von Bürgermeister Herbert Schäfer unter Beisein des Berliner Senators Horst Hase enthüllt.

Die KM-Zahl gibt die Entfernung vom Standort bis zur Leipziger Straße a den Spittel-Kolonnaden in Berlin Mitte an. Dort in der Nähe steht der sogenannte „Null-Meilenstein“.

Wissenwertes: Der Stein warb in der Bundesrepublik während des Kalten Krieges um Interesse und um humanitäre und wirtschaftliche Hilfe für Berlin.

Nach der Wende und der Wiedervereinigung erinnert das Denkmal an die Bemühungen um die Einheit Deutschlands.

Schäfer in the presence of Berlin Senator Horst Hase. The KM number indicates the distance from the location to Leipziger Strasse and the Spittel Colonnade in Berlin Mitte. The so-called (original Prussian from 1730) "zero milestone" is located nearby.

Interesting facts: During the Cold War, the stone promoted interest in Berlin and humanitarian and economic aid. After the fall of the Berlin Wall and reunification, the monument commemorates the efforts to unite Germany.
