Inscription.
In 1833, Clemence Marie, free woman of color, purchased this lot from St. Landry Catholic Church. The building later served as a clinic for Dr. James Green Campbell, attending physician of Mary Wilson at the Miracle of Grand Coteau. The Charles Gibson family purchased it in the early 1900s and owned it for over 80 years.
